I'm starting to fall back on the blogging again resolution. But opening a new post and staring at the cursor does me no good. So here's all of the uneventful details.
Went to Nebraska last weekend. It was fun in the very tame way. Nothing really big or of note going on, but great to get some time with Lindsay to just hang. Ate some amazing very bad for me food. Like a deep-fried grilled cheese. Just let that sink in. I'll wait . . . . .
Yeah! And there were also these things called Runza's that were buns stuffed with ground beef and cabbage. I like Nebraska food! Otherwise, Mizzou won, Dalton stole the show with cuteness and also managed to have awful meltdowns every 30 seconds. I hope my child isn't a brat forever.
Off tonight to go play with string at the yarn shop. I need to remember to buy 4 DPN's to finish a friend's gift. So I'll try to remember that. Excited to go hang out with new friends and relax and get some knitting time. I really need to get my needles moving in order to be ready for Christmas.
My mother being in the hospital bums me out. But not for me, for her. She's been fighting so long and so hard, she deserves to be getting well. I hate that she's had this set back. I'm glad to hear she's committed to being ready before she allows herself to be discharged. That is a very very good thing. Only being able to talk to her in ten minute bursts is awful though. I really feel like I'm not able to support her in the way she needs. The doctors seem to be saying that discharge this weekend is possible, provided she's ready. I'd go home, but there's little point: visitation is only for about an hour a day, and it's a two hour round trip from my parent's house to get there. At least working on her Christmas present makes me feel like I'm doing SOMETHING.
I need to grab my camera and post a video of D from this past weekend. I promise I'll do it a bit later.
Leaving after all these years
